rod/piston suggestions for a safe 400bhp ish
Hi guys,
As above, my impreza track toy has developed a slight head gasket leak, so as the engine will be coming out I thought I'd take the opportunity to fit some new pistons and rods, its done a few miles now so probably time to!
Just thought I'd ask your suggestions on what make etc? I'll probably go for a .5 or 1mm overbore, as I said its done a few miles.
Can't really go for a 2.1 stroker just yet..
Its currently running 320bhp, its just internals I'm looking at, gearbox/turbo etc will be done too.
I'll use ARP head studs & ACL bearings along with new oil & water pumps etc
Cheers guys
James

Newage Sti rods are good for 400
Pistons, again newage cars are handling 400 these days, there will be debates from all angles regarding that one, as what's deemed safe by one person may differ to the next, set of mahle pistons would handle 400 all day long with ease and don't cost the earth, many others out there to choose from such as cosworth, omega, wiseco, amongst many others

Running new age rods with mahle pistons in my classic. I'm reliably informed they'll handle 400 with ease.
No matter what spec internals you use they will only be as good as the machining and assembly.
