Default Alarm Sounds On Start Up.

I have noticed on the odd occasion that the alarm will briefly sound when starting the engine on MY54 STiis this due to the battery possibly being low of charge?

Yes - that's the most common cause of the alarm sounding when you start the car - a discharged battery.

Yep; get it on a charger. Don't be surprised if the battery dies anyway, as if its been in that state for some time it will have lost its capacity from sulphation.

The engine will not fully charge a discharged battery...that is unless you go for a 10 hour drive.

I've had this every winter for the last few years, I think it's the cold weather zapping the power from the battery and the beep must be some kind of warning.

Prob just as cheap & easy to buy a new battery. A battery that has went flat/weak will never fully hold charge again

Well when i took the car in for its service in August time, they did a battery test and said it was fine. So maybe just a little low on juice.

EDIT: Just bought the CTEK Multi MXS 3.6 12V charger
