bugeye boot lid

should there be any sort of sound deadening/insulation on the underside of the boot lid?

The problem with sound deadening on a boot lid is that the lid gets very hot in the sun, the adhesive melts and it all drops off into the boot.
Or at least, it did on my MkI Escort....
