E60 M5 has landed.......
Well a long trip up to Aberdeen on Friday was well worth it. I am now the owner of a 57 plate E60 M5, 46k miles FBMWSH and a bucket loads of options (soft close doors being my personal fav so far).
Took the 3.5 hour drive home very easily as it was pissing down, but managed to get a few hours in the dry on Sat morning. All I can say is HOLY ****
This thing does not stop accelerating, drives around town very nicely, SMG took about 5 mins to get used to.
Onto the roundabout, flick the M button, off the roundabout, foot to the floor....never felt anything like it......thrown back in the seat, active seat bolsters hugging my sides, absolute brutal power that seemsed endless, 3 figure speed before I could blink and so backed off, but left will the feeling that I had only tickled the engines capabilty.
Pics to follow but if you have the money and haven't had one of these, it s a no brainer, get one.

Nice, I've decided that this is quite likely my next car, been to see one so far but not had a test drive.
It's going to be my daily driver, i'm guessing your finding the mpg pretty bad right now while the new car lead foot is still in play?

I reset the computer when I got it, currently showing 11mpg
That's part only, I think. Then there's brakes etc etc which are quite expensive, as a lot of the parts are bespoke to the M5, which means expensive BMW parts only.
However, what a machine it is! I always get a bit giddy when I see the E60 M5's on the road - I also cannot stop listening to youtube exhaust clips (how sad is that
) When you get tired of the standard exhaust note, have a look at the Eisenmann exhausts.

If stuff goes, it will be expensive, I am under no illusion, but I didn't buy it to worry about these things.
I bought it because of that V10. It is pretty special thing to sit behind.
I usually buy the first car I see to be honest. I like to do all my investigation up front. The only reason for me not to buy that car would have been down to the seller not telling the whole truth. He was, and now its mine
That's liveable, I'm probably going to be mainly doing motorway miles, looked up brakes, £650ish a pair, once I start the new job and fuels paid for then I'm off shoppjng
Few years ago on the motorway same model as yours pulled next to me had a good look at my car put his thumb up! Then he flawed it the noice it made on full chat and the pace of it was what can i say WOW

This video at 10 mins 20 shows the flat out pace of a derestricted E60 M5, nothing is going to live with that. Looks like cracking fun.

It's an issue that only seems to blight SN sadly, true petrolheads could not give this car anything less than 5 out of 5.... sadly SN has a fair share of blinkered morons that can't see past a Scoob and actually know very little about cars in general. Anyway 5 out of 5 from me for a fantastic and genuinely awesome car!

5 stars from me to try and balance it up a bit
, although the wife seems particularly happy this week
