Default B*stard bugeye cps cel fault!!!

Im getting a bit fed up of the cel coming on every time i get near the redline in second!

I have taken the thing out and given it a good clean, and all seemed ok for a little while...

But on the way home tonight i was being harassed by some tit in a boxter so thought id show him how to drive lol. Anyway got to the top of second and the cel came on, didnt hit the redline either... I still put a bit of space between us but the car felt very flat, and wasnt pulling too well. so upon thinking id killed it i noticed the boost gauge reading just under 10 psi, and its usually about 17....

So not only does the light come on, it also limits boost! Arseholes.

Anyway i still stayed in front by quite some margin as im such a hero!

Turned the car on and off till the cel went out and back to boosting at 17psi...

Need to get round to fitting additional earthing to see if that does anything....

Alyn, cam position sensor, top right hand of corner of engine by the battery.
I took it out, gave a wipe over with alcohol wipes as it was a bit grimy

The cel code was P0340

It does not flash, just comes on and after about 4 starts of the car goes off and back to normal.
Its a common thing i believe on the bugeye

Cheers for the input scoobyjunky

Hi there

This error is pretty common on the Bugeye(if you will check over here for this code, you will know why)

This error will go off after few starts,as usual this CEL will come when you are hit the rev limiter

I wouldn't worry about this
