New Anti-Speeding tactics on the M1
Just had a conversation with a mate about speed cameras, he told me something which, if correct, could be very bad for many people.
Basically it goes like this:
Travelling along the M1, a camera takes a pic (video?) of all traffic, a fixed distence further (miles) another camera takes pic of all traffic. A computer then matches the number plates, if you averaged more than the speed limit, time elapsed and distence known, then you are prosecuted.
Firstly is this a true story, or urban myth?
Secondly is this the end of speeding?
Thirdly I think this stinks.

This is the new breed of digital cameras with direct feed back to DVLA. But this week I have read that the trials in Nottingham have been a failure as drivers slowed down so much only 9 people per month were being caught and this didnt give enough money to fund the camera !!!
