Looking for some personal recommendations for quality accommodation.

We can afford 5 star but find it generally a bit uptight. Looking for somewhere a bit special. Don't mind paying the price for a really lovely personal and friendly location. Might even consider a private villa or some such place. Any advice out there? Looking to go 20 - 27 July.

Carvoeiro is lovely, have been there twice and am going back next week.

Plenty of nice villas, Monte Santo Resort is very nice aswell (stayed in a 2 bedroom townhouse last year, couldn't fault it at all).

It's a quiet town with lots of very nice restaurants and a couple of bars, no loud pubs or nightclubs.

 

Estrela Da Luz in Praia da Luz you can't go wrong there

Reviews aren't bad and it does seem to have some great local restaurants on the sea front nearby which was one of my criteria.

 

Lagos in Portugal. Not in Nigeria. At least I HOPE the flights booked by my lovely wife are to Portugal. If we end up in Nigeria I will have to spend a fortune on loafs of bread for the photos. :-)
