Default Clunking/Knocking when reversing... Help needed!

Hi Guys

I bought a 1997 Impreza 2.0 Sport Auto 5 door for a banger rally accross Europe.

I have an issue when reversing on lock where there is a knocking that you can feel through the whole car. I have changed front two driveshafts and checked the rear two, the rear diff has been given the OK by Julian Godfrey motorsport and I have changed the rear propshaft...

Still getting the clunking sound, if anything it is worse since I have refitted the diff with the new prop, I'm thinking it is either the centre diff or possibly the wrong oil in the rear diff.

Im a bit lost for what do do next, if anyone could shed some light on this issue it would be much appreciated

Thanks

The rear diffs can knock/clunk when on full lock.

I had it in one of my previous classic scoobys and my bro has it time to time in his JDM blob.

I also had it in my 200sx when on full lock sometimes.

I've been told its to do with the gearing and when full locking it, the gears are going against each other in such a way that they knock... either way I've never had a problem from the cars even though they do this on lock.

You need an expert to add their knowledge here coz I could be horribly wrong and there may be sumin terrible a foot causing damage lol
