Im running a front mount intercooler on my newage and was thinking about putting a sport bonnet on it with no scoop? has anyone else done this? as there no intercooler on top no more then i dont need the vent but surely in traffic and that the vent releases the hot air?

Im sure that the cooling properties of the engine bay generally would be adversely affected by removing that airflow, especially if it modified. Like Wiley notes, get a reverse scoop/louvred bonnet insert for a different, possibly more subtle look?

 

Just to note, sport bonnets are not light. If you have an ali bonnet be ready for a shock.

If you are looking for a subtle look then I think it would look great, I've seen it done before.

 

are they not alloy like my sti bonnet then?

 

no wrx and sport are steel and very heavy compared to an sti bonnet
