I had a knocking noise coming from under the car that was diagnosed as the propshaft centre bearing knocking the tunnel and exhaust. It only did it when pulling away in first gear. I replaced the propshaft and all was well for a while and now it has started doing it again. Have I been unlucky and had two duff propshafts or is the centre or rear diff causing them to fail?
Can you replecate the noise withnthe car on a ramp? Could it be a bad fitting downpipe rattling against the gearbox cradle??
No you have to give the rear wheels some resistance to make the noise/feeling. It is without doubt the centre bearing again. I just wonder if the rear/centre diff is the cause.
