had a little look around the net without an answer..... on my05 sti does the gearbox share the same oil as the front diff or is there 2 seperate drain plugs? Cheers guys

 

Has 2 drain plugs but the box and diff share the same oil.

cheers for the reply im sure i read it somewhere before...... the reason i ask is because when i had it serviced im not sure if he knew that this was the case, how much oil would be left in there if it was only drained from the gearbox? Cheers

The box has a type of sump on it and a diff housing with oil, the second drain plug is just too aid the draining of the oils, if one is left then some old oil will remain.

 

cheers for clearining it up for me is it possible my mechanic could of missed the second one or is it blatently obvious?
