Default inconvenience....

Not sure whats causing it, hoping one of you guys can tell me....

Basically, its something to do with the immobilizer and i want to know if i can get this changed/ removed, If i unlock the car and start it straight away works fine, if i unlock it and leave it say 30 seconds then try to start it, nothing.

Also, once ive driven it and turn it off, even if i try to start it straight back up (without removing the key) i have to lock and unlcok the car again before it will start....

Its not causing any problems but more of an inconvenience....

anyone know how to stop this so i dont have to keep locking/unlocking the car to start it?

If it's the same as mine (2005STI) then just press the button on the key when the ignition is on. No need to lock / unlock, you will hear a 'click' noise when you do it, then the car will start.

sounds like its a cat1 type alarm and its purely a function of the timed immobiliser system............

with the ignition key in the ON position simply depress the fob button and it will disarm the immobiliser
