Default Road Legal Track Tyres 18" Pirelli Trofeo Style

I have 16 of these, part worn Pirelli DS tyres (Soft compound)

£55 per tyre to £45 depending on tread depth..

Some are mint with almost 90% of tread remaining.

These are the WRC equivalent of the Trofeo, he only difference is a choice of compound, and the side walls are more reinforced.

Actual WRC tyres:

TT Mark Higgins used these tyres

Are these pick-up only or is shipping an option? I'm located in belgium sadly enough and shipping will probably be through the roof but i guess it can't hurt to ask.

Hi there, sorry I should have stated in the thread.

Price is collection, however delivery on tyres is not what it use to be some years ago, and is quite reasonable, ie somewhere near £20-£25 per set to UK mainland.

I got a quote for Belgium, and was astonished how cheap delivery actual is, I had to check on two different sites to make sure it wasn’t a glitch! Delivery of 4 tyres (2 banded together) on Interparcel’s service is £44 plus vat, and better still Parcel Force Euro Priority is £40 plus Vat!!!

Regards
Rob

No worries mate. The shipping is indeed more than reasonable!

-How old are these tires exactly?
-Could you snap a few pics of the best set (4) you have? I'm going to be using these on a DD street car in the summer time so the less worn they are the better.
-Also could you measure the actual width of the tire? (brands differ alot when looking at a particular width like 235)

If all is well i'd offer you 260£ for a full set. I know it's alot of questions sry...

I'm going to run this by the guy's at the belgian subaru forum aswell .. perhaps some people may have interest. I guess i'm the only one not tracking his car so i bet at least a few guy's would be interested in a set to run at trackday's etc. ( perhaps a discount per set i can help you sell? )

thanks in advance

Oh ... i assumed you still had the best sets cause there weren't any reply's in this thread. I guess it depends on how the remaining tires are in terms of thread dept, age etc. Like i said it's for DD use so i won't be doing one trackday and then toss them.

(age determination http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...0_Full_Dot.jpg -> this tire is week 51 year 07 for example )

Thierry

Ive got some DH tyres too that are practically mint, if these are of interest. The difference is the DH are more appropriate for warm climates than the UK with less rain

I'm afaid we don't get that good weather either here in belgium it's just across the channel from the uk so very close to you guy's. So our summers aren't that good aswell, lot's of rainy days. So i need a tire that's a bit midrange and not a pure summer/track tire. I'm currently running ADVAN AD08 tires on my summer wheels and that's about as "slick" as i should go.

To be honest there is little difference in the two compounds, the only real difference is the DS are used for UK kind of weathers, and the DH for slightly warmer dryer times.

To be honest both would be replaced by slicks in the WRC if possible, but they were bound by the Trofeo tread pattern, thus why there were some slight difference in the compound options.

Ive a mint set of DH if your interest, the DS are worn but are still a great tyre.

So it's essentially the same tire and thread pattern but harder compound? If you have some pics of the set you're talking about that'd be great. Pm me your best price (incl shipping) and i'll see what i can do.

Again sorry for being such a tough costomer

(edit: oh and if you can find out the age of the tire that would be helpfull)

thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Thierry

No problem with the 101 Questions

I'll get pics this aftrnoon for you. The tread pattern is the same as the trofeo, the only difference is the compound, which isnt much different to be honest, but Pirelli claim its slightly harder, so I guess for serious/professional drivers they may see a difference

Allright mate. I just had a look on your links and the section width is stated at 228mm which is even more narrow than my 225 advan tires (230mm) i checked a random street 235 tire and that came in at 241mm. Th reason i wanted a 235 is because my 225 advan's where too narrow to nicely fit up/over te edge of my 8.5" wheels and the trofeo are even more narrow.

my wheel : 8.5"
Advan ad08 225/40: section width: 231mm
Trofeo 235/40 section width: 228mm
I need at least ~240mm section width ( normal 235/40 tire )

I really need a wider tire cause i loathe the look of the rim edge poking out (stanced/slammed/streched/stancenation crap is just hideous so i wan't nothing that even comes close to that way of car modification and my wheels are getting shot to hell -> stone chips)

But yeah since i've been giving you a hard time with all these questions i can't really just say "i don't want them anymore" so i might just end up buying them and selling them again locally.

Hey.

Don't worry about it, no need to buy something you don't need.

And for the benifit of other buyers here are the best (almost mint) DH Trofeo tyres I was going to keep myself that I photo'd for you. £60 each for a £280 tyre that is an awesome track tyre!

Im going to pass on it m8 glad you understand. It woulnd give me any benefit of having these over my (wider) AD08's. Also thanks for still providing the pics ... hopefully you'll be able to sell these soon or use them yourself for some fun on the track

I'm sure i'll be able to make it up to you sooner or later since you offer various things for sale here hopefully i didn't waste too much of your time.

Good luck with the sale!

Kind regards,

Thierry

No problem at all.

As said if there not for you then no point buying. I've sold one set if the DH, just one remaining mint set, and a few more worn. There unbelievably like new so they won't hang around anyway. I'll get some better pics up for the others potential buyers

Hi Mate,

You don't have any sets on 225.40.18 by any chance do you. Im running 18's 7.5" wide and I presume the tyres above would be too wide. Damn they do look good though.

Thanks

I think you can fit and run 235 on 7.5, however I think they are better suited on 8 -9" rims.

Ok to clear up a few questions. I have one remaining set of DH Pirelli that are mint, almost as new. And around 2 sets of each of the DS and DH that are well worn but ideal for track

The tyre grip increase in the dry more the tread is worn as they are technically a slick with cuts (WRC compliance)

Hi Rob what's the best set of road/track day you have at the moment and how much?

Need some for my PFF7's to suit a few trackdays plus a ring trip in May!
