2.5 inch exhaust system at what point do they become restrictive

Answers to the above question please guys !!! In the process of collecting parts for a 2.1 build and want to know if my exhaust will become a problem over 400hp ???

from what I read on here 2.5 is good for upto 400 and 3 for 400+
