Hi what kind of power can a JDM STI run?
Ive seen one on here saying 453bhp and seen on in a magazine which has been running 534bhp on stock internals.

 

Oh and engine im looking at is a blob eye with avcs head.

 

If done right, 453bhp will be fine, ive heard folk running more than 500bhp but how long it will handle that is a bit of a gamble.

Well i was at 438 but engine givin because of over boosting (i think). Will go forged again when i get the money to do it again.

 

At they kinda power levels if its not spot on its going to end up in tears, but it should have ran that happily, my mate runs over 450 in his and still going strong.

 

I am planning to run around 480bhp and I think JGM has run 500+bhp on stock block before without any problems. It also depends on who is mapping you car because a reputed tuner will know how far the car can be pushed based on its response of the tune.

Note: not all cars can be pushed that high, some can even blow around 450bhp..

 

Im on simtek but will need doing again. Fella in preston was going to do it. Forgot his name ill fond it on a min

 

Mines been running 457 for the past 7 months or so, mapped to 1.65bar, could prob push it to 480 but my mapper advised to leave it as is for time being.

 

Which turbo are you running?

seen ET S206 on standard STi engine, 500bhp

 

Think i might go for this engine if i can get it for the price.
Then straight in for mapping

 

Any suggestions for simtek in the northwest?

 

I've not run JDM STi,but we are made on MDX321T 452bhp on V-power and 490bhp on V-power and 20% methanol and on Syvecs S6

Try a Aet Motorsport Gtx 30, great torque ,outstanding Bhp and features new Turbosmart actuator.
Had 490 plus on Aet hub dyno on a 2.0..

 

Graham Martin, enginemapper@groupbmotorsport, dynodynamics rolling road and works alot with Steve Simpson, they are jut off the end of the M56

 

Same engine as i have in my car mate running 505bhp on 20% meth/vpower @1.85bar on syvecs ecu and SC42 Turbo,very capable engines indeed but the further you take it the less reliable it will become.
