can any give me some helpful advice please- idler pulley problem on the timing belt
hi,
i have a bugeye 2002 STi prodrive
it started to make some nasty squeaky noises the other day, so i whipped off the inspection cover that covers up my timing belt, to find that the smooth idler pulley has been bored out from wear...
im left thinking do i need to replace the whole belt inc all the bearings? or can i get away with just replacing the smooth idler pulley?
and will it need to be re-timed atall?
The timing belt was done 20,000 miles ago, so im half way through its life span...
any advice on this matter would be great and much appreciated.
thanks
dave

yeah this is true... i believe theses motors have two timing belts to be changed, so am i right to thinking that 2 kits are needed?
anyone recommend any decent kits out there? if so a link would be great?
i am not looking forward to the labour bill
any ideas?
thanks
