They are good tyres for heavier german cars, excellent grip i would say

Edited for the expensive preformace cars as standard as the s6 etc
P.s only quoted the above as ive only tried them on german cars, sorry for any confusion.

I've got them on a Mercedes CLK 320, not a particularly heavy German car. It doesn't handle like an Impreza but the grip is brilliant in rain and dry. Quite a lot of tyre noise on some surfaces. Never tried them on the Subaru.

I've got the Sport Contact 5s on my Impreza, they are ok, but not as good as the Eagle F1s that they replaced IMO. they just don't seem to offer the same feel and grip in the dry.

in the wet i've had no bother but i really don't push my car in the wet.

under heavy braking the ABS seems to be working harder with the Conti's than it ever did with the F1's...

The Contact 5's are supposed to be an improvement on the 3's...not sure if they are though.

Had two sets on my 08Sti hatch running 400bhp

Absolutely superb all rounder tyre. Grippy wet n ' dry. Good ride and not noisy. Do two diff sidewall strengths

EVO mags last three full tyre tests put them first every time - on fwd and rwd cars etc.

Not too expensive if you shop around.

As for the above comment re: suited for heavy German cars lol

How about 'expensive high performance cars' have them fitted standard.

You can get a slightly better performing dry weather only tyre but hey - we live in the uk. My original Dunlop Super Sports were great in the dry - but shocking in the wet.

Best street / road tyre out there in my humble opinion - I would buy them next time too.

A

PS. I have the Conti 3's.

Just taken them off my vrs, I went with goodyear F1s as they seem to come out better in the tests.
