Question

Am I correct in thinking that, when you have a scheduled service, if tyres are needed you do not have to get them from the dealer. Moreover, can I get them AFTER and still get the book stamped etc (as I know they are right at the end of their life, but would like to wait till next month rather than paying for tyres and service on one pay packet...)

(Sorry if this should be in another thread, just wanted a quicker answer )

Yes you can do that.

They might advise you that you need new tyres, but cannot put new ones on without your sayso.

Only becomes an issue really if its MOT time and they aren't road legal

They still stamp the book - I had the same at the 15,000mile service ..... obviously, a Tyre Specialist can beat the Dealer prices - so, I took it to the Tyre place.

They chose NOT to do a test drive on mine as they considered them illegal - I dont think they were, it was just a way to show their displeasure at me saving £120 by going elsewhere for my tyres ( I later find out that they take the car to the SAME place I did!!!!!)
