i have noticed that i start to have rust appearing on my boot where the spoiler is bolted on, is there a cure for rust then have the boot painted or is it a case of buying a boot?
This stuff is excellent, if a bit time consuming:

If it's for parts you can take off and immerse in it, the similar Deox-C works brilliantly. I've got a plastering bath full of the stuff on the go at present and my rusty anti-roll bars are starting to look like new. It works better if you can heat it up, but I've never been able to think of a way to do it as the heating element can't be made of metal.
I hope this is of interest.

Best to nip it to your local bodyshop, get a quote for a repair. You could get another boot. Is your spoiler original? I'm guessing not, and the replacement has not been bonded properly, if buying another boot lid this could happen again. I'd suggest seeking advice on fitting the spoiler correctly.
