Question

Can anyone give me advice on lowered suspension on a MY00 Impreza Turbo model (16inch wheels).

I've been considering lowering my suspension and just wanted to know the advantage/dis-advantage in doing so.

Also how far should it be lowered ??

Cheers

Maddy

Think hard before you finally decide! I had -30m.m. springs fitted by Power Engineering and other than a slightly harder ride, found no obvious benefits, in fact with passengers on board the rear tyres rubbed on the wheelarch lip, most embarassing driving at 25mph down nice twisty roads with the family on board! Having said this I do have 17" O.Z.`s and the offset is probobly slightly different from std. Power Engineering were most concerned as they had not experienced the problem before but replaced the original springs with no quibble and a full refund.
So, you should consider :-
Will you be getting different wheels? - if so retain original offset.
Without additional mods. e.g. adjustable dampers, geometry reset etc. the benefits of springs alone are marginal (I actually thought the original set-up was better)
Do you have many road humps in your area?
Is it just for looks (the std. springs do settle slightly with age)

Err- Iv`e put you off a bit haven`t I?
