Default Can dealers trace 'lost' history?

As above, I've seen a blobeye wagon advertised that on the face of it looks like a nice condition, 2 owner car, but the service history book has been 'lost' and replaced with a new one that only has two entries.

I've been able to verify previous history of other marques before via the dealer network, and wondered if the same could be done within Subaru?

I've emailed a local dealership, but no joy as yet.
