Default 6 Speed Alternatives

What gearboxes are available to replace a six speed?
Am sure I can't afford anything over what I have but what are the upgrades for a six speed?

I hear PPG and straight cut thrown around a lot but what are the benefits of these?

What are the cost of these other boxes?

Paddle shift available?

Whats out there?

For cost you wont beat the 6 speed, ppg are not as strong and the scooby clinic gearset will frighten you for the cost but its a 5 speed still.
There are no other alternatives.

If you have 6speed and you are want the paddle shift,i would contact KAPS and ask about the Kaps SSS http://www.sssdrive.com/sss_eng.php

I'm running the PPG straight cut and its amazing box, many people say better gear ratio than 6speed,about the how is strong,we are running around 490bhp/480lb-ft and some people running 700bhp still on PPG box

For PPG will be available too KAPS SSS which is now development and will be available maybe in summer,if you want now,i would suggest Zen performance which something have too

The 6 speed is the best solution out there.

The built 5 speeds cost more than a six speed and are also more likely to break than a six speed is. Been having this dilema myself because six speeds are dear but they are absolutely proven on dozens of cars.

The 5 speed offerings have yet to be independantly proven to handle what the six speeds can.

By independantly I mean on more than one car and one thats not associated with any one company.

The six speeds have proven themselves time and time again on dozens of cars.

I did 40+ Launches on mine and it was faultless.

To make a six speed stronger then you're talking serious cash. Budget for atleast £5K upwards
