Default Advice needed on clutch replacement cost

As above, what is the average cost for clutch replacement on a pretty much bog stock blobeye WRX.
Have had an estimate from the local garage that I use and they say it is an 8 hour job, is this correct.
Can anyone recommend a good place for clutch replacement in West Sussex/ south Surrey area.
Have had a quote from Mr Clutch as well, at £500 + £35 if the flywheel needs regrinding.
Ta.

I replaced my clutch last year for around £260 in all, I got an exedy clutch off the Internet for around £160 and payed £100 for fitting (a friends friend is a mechanic and used to work at a Subaru dealer). It only took him and another guy 2 hours to fit it, he said it can take up to four hours if parts are seized (mainly the downpipe I think) but mine came apart as if it was new . I'm not sure if a blobeye would take longer than a classic but I can't see it taking anywhere near 8 hours

4 hours average book time, although can be done quicker.

I would pay anything from £100-£200 for a clutch fit. Exedy clutch kits we can supply from just £149.99

Flywheel may well need skimming, but you won't know until the clutch is off.

Try Brent at Southern Motor Developments in Newhaven. Otherwise take a look at SouthEastscoobies for recommendations in your area.

Thanks for the info, that price is for 225 clutch and I think I need a 230? its for a 52 plate blob (03 model) WRX saloon.

Also, phoned a company in Guildford, they quoted 250+ the dreaded for fitting and fluids, but recommended I get a new flywheel. When I questioned whether it needed a new flywheel or just skim the old one they said the standard flywheel is quite thin and would be better off with new flywheel, is this correct?

Don't really want a lightened flywheel, am I not better off buying a used one on ebay and sending it off to be skimmed or would this be false economy or unnecessary risk?

A little bit of travelling, but Richard at FB Tuning will fit the clutch for £175.00 all in. He's over in High Wycombe.

Mark,
Yup, and +£80 for skimming if the flywheel needs it, and then your choice of clutch on top.
I've seen several scooby specialists giving quotes of fixed price clutch changes at around £450-£600.
