As above really. Looking for more places to go for a Sunday drive. Any recommendations?

The B6399 between Hawick and Newcastleton on the Scottish border is the best road I have ever driven

This thread got me thinking, especially as I sat idling in traffic this morning... that if we only want the best for our cars... i.e. oil changes, services, best parts etc... why not the best roads.... I have found this website and franky am very impressed... see what you recon http://www.drivingroads.co.uk/ the guy who has set it up appears to be into his fords... but we are not all perfect!

the best road for me is the uphill, roughly half mile slip road onto the motorway

best place to give it blast up through 2nd and 3rd with zero other traffic and plenty space to join traffic at appropriate speed,

im really not one for using a car in anger on the roads, "twisties" esp to me represent real risk of any kind of accident. i love my car, and also my life lol

im not having a wee preach as others can do as they wish, and use theres as they please with calculted risks - im totally fine with that (obv aslong as not endangering other road users) and i do actually really enjoy watching others have a wee blast, but my nearest track has loads events and its been designed to give great enjoyment

thats the best for me

and please no hi-horse comments lol, thats not what im meaning - just justifying why my wee half mile straight is my fav road, that is all

Especially if you are sitting behind a largish bike gunning it and you see them checking their mirrors all the way up . I've had some entertaining (positive) responses.

Best roads for me are ones without hedges or obstructions so you can see any potential danger around corners and there seems to be a higher percentage of these in Scotland, not necessarily the Highlands.

The section of the B6047 from Harborough to the A47 at Billesdon is all limited to 50mph, with a couple of 30mph villages on the way. Not so much fun these days.

I rather like the A18 (... in the Isle of Man!)

Agreed Jef, but you dont always need to be going flat out to enjoy a road.

My best friend lives a few miles from the end of snake pass and whenever we go to visit I always take the mini, because it is now a 50mph limit the mini is alot more fun and the scenery is awesome, no need to break any speed limits.

My few mile "hillclimb" road. Not my vid but I take the gsxr up there and it's great. Quiet, narrow and twisty. Only problem is that there is some fearless sheep there occasionally. And coming round a corner at 60mph 17k rpm and it just stands there.. Scary.. Oh and the straight as 3 small hills so by time you've hit the second one your doing 100 and the front wheel comes up. It's great.
