Default WRX 2001 Fault Code

Hi All.

Got my first scooby this weekend. All looks good except engine management light flashes occasionallyand stays on for a bit of time occasionally.

I spoke to the previous owner who said it does do this and when check the fault, if any, could not be isolated, although could be a turbo solenoid?? All other engine indicators are normal and the car runs fine.

He suggeted trying to get hold of a fault code reader. Does anybody know where I would get one of these?

Cheers

Ebay, OBD II scanners, they are around the £25 quid mark for a half decent one, Well worth the price IMO

Hope the fault/CEL flashing is not the reason they got rid of it.

A few lads have readers, pop up to the meeting Wednesday and we can have a look.

You may not get the codes off using a reader on a 2001 model, and may need to use the green / black connectors under the steering column.

Bug WRX has OBD II port under the dash If you don't want a dedicated reader you can buy an OBDII adapter and use a smartphone app.....

Thanks for the replies.

Where is the meet on Wednesday?

Anybody Recommend a body work garage that can do minor chips and also work with carbon fibre?
