Default 2001 bugeye engine asap

in need of an engine as i purchased one off here and was told a 99 on would fit but today found out it wouldnt so i need a 2001 engine jap import let me know asap cheers guys or bottom end either or.

A 99 bottom end and heads are the same as a 2001 you just have to change the crankshaft sprocket that the crank sensor works off as the are different on a classic to a bugeye but you do have to use the manifolds off the 2001 engine

Well he says it doesnt fit. Ive sold 99/00 engines to bugeye owners before with no problems. Now Ill be 300 quid down for getting an engine toured around Britain as hes refusing to pay for delivery in the first place............

Also said the inlet doesnt even fit????

Doesn't the JDM WRX have AVCS heads unlike the UK version ?

im not here to **** about or anything i recieved info saying it would fit have taken scoobynet members know how on this and i was told to just change the inlet manifold im not simple a few mods i would have carried out but the heads are different and wont work simple as im not going to pay for something that was supplied on the basis it may work when messaged i said about it being an import as there may have been some difference all im after is my money back so i can get another engine.

Have a 2004 long block 76 thou just had new head gaskets cam belt pulleys cam belt and new belt adjuster, just bolt your inlet and away you go. £750

On some 99 they the same and some not i take it the heads on one you sold manifold bolt holes are in a straight line, his will be off set, wasn't there a change around that time.
Hope you both get it sorted out
