Default coolant leaking onto reserve tank

Can anyone help with this problem please.
Got coolant appearing on reserve tank on top of engine.
No sign of leaks replaced the coolant done air checks now this happens have to wipe the reservoir down every now and again.do you not need to put coolant in the reserve reservoir on top of engine when replacing Coolant.do you just fill plastic reservoir at the front of car.just want to sort it out before it gets really cold up here.cheers

the coolent tank is on the top "left side" on my classic

and the plastic one "front right" is the expansion tank

your not filling the plastic one up to the brim and not the metal one are you?

I think your a tad confused. Yes the tank on top the engine should be full and filled after a coolant drain. The plastic tank at the front of the car is an expainsion tank and should also be filled about halfway to the max level line
