Default Subaru legacy engine/gearbox seperation??

Hello one of my friend is removing a legacy gtb engine from a auto legacy, he seems to be struggling to seperate the engine from the gearbox.

Is there any certain way to do it? as with the manuals the clutch folk pivet pin has to be removed to seperate them.
Is there a similar preceedure with the auto's?

Cheers.
wayne.

I don't know about the auto box side of things but when I removed the engine from my Impreza the other week the engine was well stuck to the gearbox and the gearbox had only been in there 6 months! A few knocks with a hammer and some jiggling with pry bars and off it came. The auto box my be stuck in that same way.

theres a pin you have to remove at the top of the gearbox, common problem when removing it until you realise. I'm not sure where exactly, but my mate had the same problem on his leggy.
