Best ECU Upgrade
I am thinking of having my ECU upgraded - can anyone offer help on options available / costs & reliability.
I would guess Superchips is the chepest (& most un-reliable !!)
Dont want to spend huge money but want reliability.
Any help from those in the know appreciated.
Thanks
Ro.

Agree with you re Superchips - I have built a superior device using £5 of electronics.
What model/year is your car? What mods so far?
Try posting in Drivetrain.

MY99/00 probably best to go for the 'ECU Tek' remap of the standard ECU (£150-£700 dependant on what you want).
For all model years the Unichip provides a very cost effecient mappable solution. On the MY93-00 the boost control isn't considered too good, so it may be worth going for a boost controller as well (like a Dawes Device or Apexi Type R - £30 & £400 respectively), on the MY01- the boost control module is good so boost controller not required. Should come in at under £500 mapped/fitted.
