Default 1995 Classic Horn Help - Urgent!

Hi all

I need some urgent help please. I have just bought a 1995 Uk classic and need to put it through an MOT. The previous owner has put a Subaru Nardi wheel on but it doesnt have a horn. I have found one single black wire under the centre of the Nardi wheel, but how does the horn circuit work, should there be two wires? I have a horn button i found but just cant work out how to wire it.

Any help would be great, really need to get it MOT'd.

Thanks

David

if you earth that wire to the metal of the wheel does the horn sound?. connect that wire to one side of the switch and connect a small wire from the other side of the switch to ground (metal of wheel)

Ok all, i think i may have found the problem. Was messing around with the wiring behind the steering wheel today and found the factory wire that goes to the back of the steering wheel not connected to anything so hopefully all i need to do is reconnect the wire and hey presto, however i have no idea what wire it goes to as it is a bit of a mess behind there! There is a pic of the wire below, anyone recognise the wire and where it connects to?

Thanks

Should go to the switch on the steering wheel. Just did my today. I had a faulty switch andd faulty horn as my multimeter revealed.

However my layout was different. 1996 Classic I took these pics below

My red wire started here.

then from there to the switch on my steering wheel.

The red wire does go to my horn, but i need to know what wire in what look it goes to. Do you have any pics of that?

That ride wire went from my horn switch to the pictures that i have posted. I did not go further back than that connection I have posted.
But thats where my red wire runs to...From the Horn Switch to the picture i've posted.
Sorry I have already put together my steering wheel so I can't take anymore pics.

Can you not just wire that into a horn switch and see if it works? There is only one wire for the horn switch.

I have put a live direct to a wire from the horn, it works and i have also put a live direct to one of the wires on the connector that goes into the relay and it works so the wiring is complete, however when i plug the relay in and try to earth the right connector the horn doesnt sound, only thing i can think of it being is the relay not activating and therefore not activating the horn.
