Default stereo problem any ideas???

hi all sorted out the permanent live prob and now can't get my head round this one basically in all the head unit I've fitted you need
ign live
constant live
earth/ground
well when I connect my new head unit up this way there is nothing unless I connect the blue wire (normally for 12v out I think) to either of the lives then it will power up fine and work so does anyone have any ideas as to why this is the case soon as you remove the blue wire switches of any help would be great

Sounds like a fuse. the 12v is feeding back from the remote 12v (blue) and switching the unit on. test by only connecting the blue and earth then the +12v and ign 12v in turn to see which one works.

sorry not quite sure what you mean mate I defo have a ign and permanent 12 v and when the stereo does switch on the blue is also giving 12v as tested this by switching ign of with it connected to the ign live and stereo stays on even after u have switched ign of and put a meter on so for some reason it needs 12v on the blue to power up but as soon as it's powered up it is also producing 12v just can't see why this would need 12v to switch on sorry if I'm missing something
