I have a JDM V3 STi. I noticed the other day that the loom that goes from the chassis to the door to operate the mirrors, windows etc the rubber gaiter that protects it has perished quite badly exposing the cables inside.
Is there a proper repair for this or do I go mad with electrical tape?

You could probaby get one from a stealer or even a breaker, but fitting it would be a royal PITA.
I would investigate the use of either loom tape, (the non-sticky stuff, with a single band of sticky at the finished end to seal it, or self-amalgamating tape, which, when used, forms a good watertight seal.

Other things at the above are sleeving, and spiral/split wraps.
