Right guys i have a technical one for you, my neighbours gardner (very nice fellow) used to own a Nissan Silvia (i think thats what he said) back a couple of years ago and unfortunately totalled it doing some Traffic Light GP

As a result, before the car got scrapped, he removed a couple of items, one of which was a data monitor (i believe) called a BLITZ R-VIT Type 2 as pictured below.






The question i have is would i be able to connect this to my Simtek ECU on my Classic 1997 WRX??

Im not very familiar with the electric side of things so any help would be appreciated.

Doing a google search it looks a very good bit of kit, but am unaware if it is a Nissan only fitament.

He has passed this on to me to try out anyway, along with a BLITZ boost gauge (sorry i dont have a pic) which i plan to fix to the dash. He said make an offer, any idea how much i should offer for the two, and maybe ill sell the elctronic thingy on to a nissan owner if its a no-goer?

As you are running a aftermarket ecu i dont think a data monitor will work on your car mate.

 

It may be OBD suitable but virtually guaranteed not to work with a Simtek.

Rekon its worth a punt if i can get i cheap and flog it on?

Any idea what the Boost gauge would be worth?

I wouldn't bother trying to cash in on it .... your 'friendly' gardener probably knows EXACTLY what it's worth (nothing I would hazard a guess).

 

Seems a genuine fella, it was fitted to the car when he bought it, and since the crash a couple of years ago been sat in his cupboard.
Will see what he says never know he might just say have it!
If i get chance tomorrow ill fit the gauge and if its works all ok ill make him an offer.

 

Curious about this too. Is there any way to monitor data on older cars? Mine being 1995 I believe I don't have an OBDII connection on my ecu. As I'm planning to upgrade my ECU in the coming months what would the best solution be in terms of data monitoring?
