Default Clutch Problem?!

Hi Guys,

Hope someone can help me. (Scoobie Newbie)

Had my 04 Sti uk running standard for a few weeks now and loving it apart from a problem (or I think its a problem!)

When changing gear sometimes, Normally in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, I notice the revs jump up slightly when I push down on the clutch. But this doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes. I thought maybe the clutch is slipping BUT the car has only done 35K?! I thought they were ment to last to at least 70K

Could this be my driving style, or it is slipping or Im worrying over nothing?

Thanks.

This happens on my Bug and has been reported on and off on Scoobynet over the past few years...........Revs rising when changing gear when the obvious thing would be for the revs to fall when you lift off the gas and stick your left foot on the clutch.

If there is no real clutch slip.......medium speed up an incline and foot hard down in 4th is one way of checking for revs rising due to slipping........then I'd drive it as normal

Mileage isn't really relevant.

The clutch is either slipping or not. If it is slipping you will want to change it.

If you are unsure if it is slipping: when driving along, top gear, low revs give the car full throttle. If the revs rise quicker than the car speed the clutch is on it's way out and will need replacing.

Does it happen if you completely remove your foot from the accelerator then push the clutch as it sounds like you may have a little throttle overlap
