Just had to write this as I'm very upset that companies like this get away with what they are doing.

You may have seen Steeve Goodes car that has been nearly destroyed by a company called AID.

A very sorry story indeed.

WHen I had my alarm fitted, I rang Thatcham to check whether the installer I was using was an approved one. The installer must be approved as well as the alarm for it to have a CAT 1 rating, and you must provide a VSIB to your insurer or they won't care what alarm you have.

I hope he regains some of his money. He should try trading standards if he hasn't already.

Sounds exactly the sort of stuff Watchdog, Cook Report et all love.

Worth writing a good letter to them. Would be nice to see Toad get some publicity about the problems.

Jeez, that sucks. Bet it didnt come cheap either. Cant believe that being an approved fitter can mean no comeback on Toad at all.

I thought i was being careful, when i got in touch with craigamungos for my new alarm, however he contracted the job to VIN (possibly even the same chap who installed Steve's alarm)

After working on the alarm myself (to make it temporarily safe)I want my money back, and the alarm removing, which is going to cost somebody £650. Its doesn't take many refunds to add up to £12000.
Fortunatly for Craig time is available to sort this mess out (I did have 1 day left before my insurance was cancelled, due to having no alarm certificate, but Craig did drop everything to help)
I know Craig has learned a big lesson (like myself) and won't get caught out again.

I just hope craig can get hold of VIN, and stay in buisness himself,
