Engine 'tinkling' noises

Everytime you hear it you just can't help but worry !
Sounds as though it is normal procedure though. Thanx for all the replies.

Question

After switching off the ignition, is it normal for a scoob engine to make kind of 'tinkling' noises (hard to explain exactly the kind of noise), as if it is extremely warm and is cooling down very rapidly ?
This happens after a slow short drive, as well as after a good thrashing.

Mine does it too!!

Its the exhaust and heat shields cooling down. There is even a bit about this in the owners handbook.
