DCCD Electrics, what is to go wrong

Can anyone explain what is to go wrong electrically inside a DCCD transfer box, I know there is a coil on the top of the box but what happens inside when this is energised and what can go wrong.

Not much really. If it fails, it fails open i.e. unlocked as the current is required to maintain lock
