Default Drive shafts

I have a 1.6GL 2WD impreza, how does the N/S/F driveshaft come out the gear box? Does it just pull out. Secondly what other specs can i use the shaft from eg: 2.0 non turbo.

not sure about the N/A engines, but the turbo ones have a roll pin you have to knock out first.

If it doesnt have a rollpin, then Most driveshafts are held in by a little circlip inside, I usually put a pry onto one of the flats on the cup, and give it some stick with a hammer until it comes out.
When re inserting the shaft make sure the gap in the clip is facing down. (it will make more sense when you do it)
My money is it probs has a rollpin like the others though.

You will also need to either undo the bolts on the bottom of the suspension leg, and probs the roll drop links, in order to be able to move the hub around for the other end of the shaft....
...or alternatively undo the hub nut, whack that end of the shaft with a copper hammer and pull the hub to one side so you can get that end out. Remember you will prob require new hub nuts though, and you have to unstake them before you can undo them (probs something like 32mm, and will be tight! remember to torque them up again afterwards)
