can anyone tell me wether i can put a decat downpipe on my v1-2 with a z4 ecu without any probs?. car is standard apart from sti panel filter. will the z4 be able to cope? or would i need the likes of a 'polar performance' type chip to make use of it?

you might have overboost problems with a decat downpipe, i did. i have a polarperformance chip in mine and it runs a1.

ive run two decat pipes one on each of my scoobs, both with z4 ecu and neither gave any over boost nor running probs.

 

il shall put the decat on and give it a try.
if i put a switch on j1 ready for a chip for the z4 am i right in thinking i should only change map while the ignition is off.
