Just taken this pic of a spare inlet I have, the FPR fixes where the open end is and the red line is the vacuum hose route.
It goes onto that metal pipe which comes back out near the throttle, where a rubber hose connects it to one of the vacuum feeds at the top.

The hose you speek of sounds like the vacuum which goes from the FPR to the inlet manifold. dont know what year it is so i cant tell you were on the inlet manifold.

No worries, I had the Very same problem.

Just make sure the other end is attached.
If you look at the inlet manifold you`ll see 3 vacuum feeds before you get to the throttle. The pipe on the same side as the throttle position sensor (opp side to accelerator cable), will be a black vacuum hose going down to a metal pipe which goes under the inlet manifold, this is the other end of that metal pipe. Pointless making sure the it on at the FPR if the other side is off too.

Yeah as you look at the front.
Left large one is the dump valve and Boost Gauge.
Middle one is Boost Control Solenoid.
Right one is for the Fuel pressure regulator.
