These are the last bit's left to get the poly bushes into. I have managed to get the rubbers out using Nitro Mors (it melts the rubber ) but the steel sleeves are still in

I don't want to **** the alloy arms trying to get the sleeves out but they are being a pain. The shape is too awkward to get in a press, have a look at the attachments.


Any ideas please?

 

air hacksaw put a slot in the bush (carefully) then socket in a vice big enough to take bush and use a socket small enough to press bush out . thats how we done a mates . it worked but was bloody hard work , spraying freeze n release on tghe bush made it slightly easier

 

Ian you could try making a puller from some threaded rod, repair washers etc and coat the bushes in fairy liquid or better still some tyre soap to allow the rubber bush to slide in better.

 

The new bushes come with lube (woo eer misses). It's getting the old steel sleeves out is the bugger.

 

Is that the one's off the car there ? Or are you upgrading.

 

What about a bit of persuasion from a gas axe ie burning torch or I have this really good releasing spray made for Volvo which makes WD40 look like cr@p, it contains diamond fragments and I've yet to see it fail.

Dylan might have tried it once or twice.
