Default AP 4 pot 308mm disc or Gold Brembo's 330mm disc

Which would be the better set up between the 2 in the title. They would be used on an STI RA for track use, cheers.

The 330 mm disc will provide more stopping power. Basic physics. Wider swept area, bigger pad, more contact with the discs. I think the 330mm will get rid of heat better too.

If you mean the standard newage brembos, they are heavier, limit your range of wheel choice and retain more heat than the APs.

Cheers. Think I'll go for the AP's if nothing else than the bling factor lol.

Why not go for AP's on a 330mm?

Cause the one's I've bought off Lammy on here come with 308mm discs. Once I need to replace them I'll upgrade to the 330mm discs.

Priced the EBC bluestuff pads for both kits. The brembo's are £155 a set where the AP's are only £77. Bargain!

AP Racing 4 pots i have... with 330mm discs... and all i can say is OH MY GOD!!!

stopping power is truely unbelievable.... especially working the front suspension hard when braking hard...

one of the best modifications i have made... by far!

Don't dismiss the 308mm discs.....you may be able to run standard 16" subaru wheels which are a bargain price and readily available....ideal for track.....bigger discs mean more unsprung weight and more force needed to slow them down.

Sticking with the current set up for the forseeable future. Its all fitted and plumbed in. Will report my findings once I eventually get it to a track, cheers.

How much m8 and whats the serial number? Will they fit with the 304mm kit bracket or will I need to source a new bracket to place caliper further out? Cheers.

count how many mounting points there are that hold the bell to the disc (most likely 12 bolts), then use an opposite pair 12o'clock and 6o'clock...........

measure from the centre of one to the centre of its mate and that will give you the PCD of the bell and from this we can determine (hopefully) exactly what you have and what else will fit, etc.....

this diagram will hopefully help

cheers, alyn

The 304mm discs usually have a PCD of 12 x 177.8mm and the 330mm ones are usually 12 x 203.2mm , some of the racing discs are slightly different , so you will find you cannot fit 330mm discs to your bells , you would have to change the bells , the brackets could be re-used , you would just have to fit a 13mm spacer between the caliper and bracket.

As an option , I can supply you our own 330mm grooved discs machined to fit your 304mm bells and the 13mm spacers and 24 nuts and bolts for the bells for £349 inc VAT and P&P

Cheers Ian
