I need to make a few checks or replace the thing on a MY97 UK, where is it a what does it look like. I think I know, just need to confirm.

Dump valve on a 97 -

Pop your bonnet, on the right hand side of the intercooler as you look at it there's a pipe coming out of the front of the intercooler. Follow this until you get to a black plastic assembly about as big as a fist. That's the DV.
