Question

What are the pros and cons of each? I've read about VF22's being prone to some kind of failure and that TD05's are stronger, but if so, why on earth do so many people fit VF22's? eg. http://www.autospeed.com/A_0902/page1.html?src=suggestions

vf turbos are ball bearing turbo, less resistance, so spools quicker.

the TD turbos are (360 degree?) sleeve bearings and so can stand up to more abuse, such as mild antilag.

TD turbos are just known to be tougher, but mostly people know more about hybridising vf series as its done more commonly so amongst suabru people they get more press thats all.

evos use TD05s and all their hybrids are based on those.

Changed the TD04 on my UK94 to a TD05H. Brill turbo to be honest.

Coped with going on 2bar boost (until blew a piston!). Good low down and pulled 1.3bar all the way to the red line.

Bit noisy with a SS downpipe.
