I have two open deck blocks for sale. One is from a 2003 WRX, the other is from a late classic as far as I know ?
Both have suffered the usual bottom end failure before being stripped.
The block halves have been split to inspect the crank damage.
The pistons and rings have been left in the bores if someone simply wishes to rebuild either of them as a cheap replacement engine.
The matching con rods are also included.
There does not appear to be any 'scoring' or other bore damage.
£100 each + delivery.
The block bolts are available at extra cost if required ?
I also have both damaged crankshafts if someone wants to get them reground ?
Looking for £30 + delivery each.

Crank shafts can be reground, hence Subaru selling under and oversized bearings.
Speak to Harvey on here, he has sucessfully used reground cranks on several builds.
No valves I'm afraid !

The late classic (may even be a newage ?) block was running 330bhp in my WRX.
I had a very silly VMAX run in with a TVR and it started knocking shortly after !
Prior to that it was running fine, no smoke and no oil usage.
For a 'cheap' rebuild just crank and bearings required (or get a crank regrind, speak to 'Harvey' on the forum)
As stated, I am selling it as block halves with matching pistons and rods, block bolts available at extra cost if required.

thanks mate im gonna find out if my crank and bearings are any good then get back to you. my head gaskets went and the rings dropped scoring the cylender in no 1 piston but there was no noise wen i drove the car 2 the garage.do u think the crank would b ok?
Speak to SMG & he will tell you otherwise. There is no way of getting the swarf out of a standard crank. Every engine I have built that a crank has gone on has had a new unit.

SMG and Harvey had better discuss it then, both are far more qualified to comment than myself !
The engine manufacturer lists the process and the over / under size bearings in the dealer manual, I can't produce a better endorsement !
