Default Is it worth breaking or fixing

Hi guys/gals

Ive got a 96 jdm prefacelift wrx vlimited in 53c blue. recently a rust bubble on the rear passenger sill turned into a small hole when I tried to clean it up, this is when the devastation started!

I removed the sill covers only to reveal further holes and some rust also on the inner sill, this all appears to be the result of poor repairs as I know the car has had a bump on that side.

It needs a full sill at least and the inner patching, it due for its mot in feb so would have to be done very soon.

I am an engineer and can weld, but my mig died when my shed roof leaked so Im without the tools to do it myself.

would it be more economical to break?

I am also in a similar situation. Rear arch has rotted and taken out half of the rear sill.

Bodged repair on the floor, which i only discovered yesterday when i found the floor soaking wet, and rot forming under the rear window, and is traveling fast!

Im looking into a reshell, they can be picked up quite cheap.

I found out about my bodged repair when I noticed rust on the inside of the passenger rear quarter. The more I think about it I rekon break it and put funds aside till I can find a good one later this year.

Sounds like a good plan. I have only just got mine running right, and now plagued by all this rust. The salt this winter has really taken its toll on the car.
