Default BREMBO'S ON A 2008 HATCH

HI ALL.
I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A 2008 WRX TURBO HATCHBACK AS SOME OF YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN THIS CAR COMES WITH FRONT AND REAR SLIDING CALIPERS, GONE IS THE 4POT FRONT AND 2POT REARS, I KNOW THE STI IN THIS VERSION CARRY THE BREMBO'S BUT IN A SAD BLACK COLOUR.. AS THE CAR IS BLACK WITH ANTHRACITE 18INCH PRODRIVE ALLOYS..

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS,, CAN I FIT A SET OF GOLD BREMBO'S FROM A STI TO THE FRONT AND BACK OF MY CAR,, WITH NEW HANDBRAKE SHOES TO FIT AS WELL... CHEERS MIKE

Blimey, are you sure? Sliding calipers? Maybe someone has swapped them. 4 pot fronts and two pot rears were the basic spec for any turbo newage.

The gold fronts should go on easy, but not sure about the rears. As the black Brembo rears have to be machined to fit other spec's. But I'm sure Ian will be along to confirm soon enough.

he is quite correct the Hatchback basic cars lost the 4pot/2pot set-up and went back to the impost spec sliders.....

the fronts should bolt straight on but from mmeory you will struggle with the back without a conversion kit

Yeah crappy sliding calipers fitted to the WRX hatch , I haven't worked on them yet so don't know whats needed or what fits , all the enthusiasts seem to go for the STi models

They must be at least the same size as the previous 4 pots at 294mm. If not, then thats a huge backwards step.
