interior brake light question
What model newage impreza came with a 3rd brake light that sits at the bottom of the rear window on the saloon parcel shelf? Looked at a few photos but it's hard to see if they have one or not. ebay have one that it is supposed to be from a bugeye. Can anyone confirm this? And what model? GX, WRX, STI, All?
Thanks

No - but would like to kniow, as I have no 3rd brake light since de-spoilering. Type that part number in to Google - there are a few hits, including US subaru forums, so the information you need it probably out there
Or ask a dealership to look up the part number.
Why do I get the idea, however, that this is going to turn into another "what's it worth, does anyone want it" thread?
Sorry to the op if I'm off course here

LOL. No I'm not selling one. I'm trying to find out what cars had them fitted so I can track down a used one.
The reason I ask is I have a GB270 saloon and it has the same unit but instead of the red lens it has a GB270 sign. I was looking for the bulb holder and wiring to see what it would look like lit up. Might look crap so don't want to fork out loads for one.
My gb270 has this but it doesn't come with any bulb holder/wiring etc. It's just a sign.

Ah, I see. Bit of a mod.
OK, why not just get a bulb holder from a car place, or www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk, araldite it in place and try it?
If you buy the brakelight, it'll probably end up as a sealed unit and you'd have to split it to get the bulbholder without the red lens.........unless you want it to light up red?
Anyway, most friendly scoob dealers would put that part number into their computer and Robert is your mother's brother.

My '07 Hawkeye WRX came with one of these. The car was originally supplied without a spoiler. When I decided it might look a bit better with the little lip spoiler and the car went back to the local dealers to have it fitted, I was amused to find that the original brake light was removed and replaced with a very similar one mounted on a short plinth. This was intended to ensure that the tiny read spoiler wouldn't prevent someone following from seeing the brake light!
I still have the original sitting on a shelf in my garage.
If you are interested in having it, send me a pm.

Hi mikeybhoy, how did you get on with this because I wanted to do the same with my GB270. Let me know pls
I looked at mine and I think we just need the bulb holder because the wiring is there under the parcel shelf.

Hey Rodregos. Never really got anywhere with it. I found a few brake lights from Impreza's with no spoiler but didn't want to spend the £20 or so people were asking. I keep meaning to go into dealership to see if bulbholder can be bought on it's own but not found the time.
