Default Brake Nipples

Can you wrap the thread of brake nipples in that thread tape stuff, lol please excuse my lack of correct vocabulary. Will brake fluid eat it?

If not is there anything i can put on the thread of the nipple?

the only thing you can do if the thread as gone mate, is get a slightly bigger thread tap. and ask for that thread nipple bolt from say an iron munger ect.

theres plenty around

Yeah i was afraid that's the only solution. I'll take the nipples out and have a look at the condition of the hole threads and nipple threads and go from there.

where i live, not far is an engineering place. the thread went on one of the brembo calipers. they sorted it out.

even doing threads ect.
theres bound to be a place near your self who could sort that thread out for you if you dont want to tacle it mate.

i do things my self. but if its a little tec, i get the guys to sort it out
beets buying a new caliper mate

I've used PTFE tape (plumbers tape) on my threads when removing the brake bais valve... Brake fluid does not "eat" though this stuff. Teflon is almost inert and I don't think it would deteriorate.

But if you have a leak, the flare / angle of the nipple is supposed to seal the whole thing (not the threads of the nipple), so if you have a leak, something else is wrong.

Ahh i understand, that makes sense, i'll just have to take a look at them and see.
They are brand new brakes and i didn't over tighten them or use excessive force so i can't understand what's wrong. Hopefully i will find the issue when i take the nipples out.
I don't want to apply anymore force when doing them up as i feel anymore was damage them, considering they aren't already damaged.

ultimately you shouldn't need to mess around with bleed nipples - tapiing or otherwise!!
at the end of the day if your certain they are leaking and your brakes are brand new then contact the people they were made/purchased from.........

might be an idea to get them checked "professionally" first IMO as you seem to have had an on-going issue judging by the amount of threads you have had on here (unless im mixed up with another??)

I am currently talking to Bren at Apex about the issue now.
And you are correct, this is the first time i have fitted a brake conversion and bled a system but i can honestly say if i have damaged the threads of the nipples or the seats the nipples sit in, then it was damaged with very very little force!
I think ultimately, if taking the nipples out, haivng a look at both the internal and nipple thread, then cleaning them up and refitting doesn't fix it, i will be asking Bren if there is any way i can send one back to be examined.
