Question

Hi

Should there be a gasket between the back-box and the center? Also do the center and downpipe just bolt together without a gasket?
I have SS downpipe and backbox and magnex center with resonator.

TIA

Cool

When I swapped my std to PPP BB there was a small gasket that I reused.

No gasket between the DP & centre - just the slightly iffy-looking ball type connection

Gasket between backbox and centre, as I had to replace mine after I swapped the backbox.

Am asking this question because my exhaust note isn't as smooth as i think it should be if that makes sense. There seems to be a slight rattle-type of sound especially when cold.I seem to have noticed this more since the downpipe was fitted so wondered if it was turbo/wastegate/bov type noise or the silencer on the magnex center or any of the joins on the exhaust .The gasket between the bb and the center looks pretty knackered but if it doesn't leak is that ok?
A P1 goes past my office everyday and his exhaust note is very smooth in comparison.

PS.Am going to swap the center with the standard one to see what difference that makes

If the gasket does need replacing are they a standard size and can be bought from Halfords, etc or are they specific to the exhaust in question?

The exhaust note is 'harder' without the DP cat - you're hearing the engine more!

I've got the "hard" edged burble that's what i want.I just think there's another noise there - possibly a rattle/vibration which i don't know if it's normal or where it comes from.
